IT'S HERE!

Howdy all!

After a long time coming it's actually here, Crumbling Ghost II is now available from Withered Hand Records bandcamp page ahead of its official 'shop' release date of the 15th July.

Also, great to hear the opening track 'The Good Old Way' on Tom Ravenscroft's 6 Music show tonight and hear all the good things people have been saying about it.

Cheers!

NEW ALBUM IS ALMOST HERE!

It's been a long time coming but we're there at last! Our second album 'II' is currently being pressed and has a release date of July 15th 2013.

Five very happy Crumblies here!

It's being released again through Withered Hand Records and will be a lovely gatefold digipack with an 8 page booklet full of Lyrics and John's extensive liner notes.

WHR will be doing early bird orders so you can get your hands on it before the official release date, your best bet is to join us on facebook at: https://www.facebook.com/crumblingghost  or keep checking back at the WHR website for more news on that. Early bird orders should be going live around mid/late June though.

Oh and here's a reveal of the cover artwork, again done by our very talented friend Hannah Cheesbrough:

Until next time!

STILL HERE!

Well good afternoon!

Just a quick update as we come to the end of the year. We may have seemed a bit quiet in 2012, but we've been busy beavering away behind the scenes desperately trying to get the new album finished and out there. As you can guess, it's not going to happen this year but all being well we're looking at March/April 2013. At present it just needs artwork (which our friend Hannah is hard at work at), mastering and the cash to get them pressed (as we're self releasing again via Withered Hand Records). But we're saving our pennies and keeping our fingers crossed for a spring release.

GIGS!

Hello There!

We have a couple of gigs coming up!

25th August - Brixton Windmill, London (facebook)
27th October - Camden Black Heart, London (facebook)

This week we're back in action after a little summer hiatus. We've two practices, two days mixing/recording AND the gig in Brixton all in the space of four days. I know I say this every time, but after this weekend we'll hopefully be a step closer to the album coming out! At this point it seems likely that we will self release again via my label Withered Hand Records and fingers crossed it will see light of day this year. Why is it taking so long? Well we got a bit adventurous and maybe tried to cram a bit too much in to our short recording sessions. This means we've had to go back a couple of times and tweak things as and when we can afford (which isn't often!). But yes hopefully we're near the end now!

Until next time!

INTERVIEW AND UPDATE

Ahoy there!

Thought I'd throw an update out there as we've been a bit quiet recently. We're still going strong, though we're now a 'distance' band (John is living in Newcastle, while the rest of us are still in Laaahnndann) so things have slowed down a tad.

That said, work is progressing nicely on the second album. The recording sessions are split in two (similar to the first album). The first session we did last year at One Cat in Brixton, the second we did earlier this year at Holy Mountain in Hackney. The Holy Mountain session is now complete with all the tweaks were finished last weekend. Hopefully we're back at One Cat in August to tweak the first session. Then it's just mastering to go! So fingers crossed it will still be out this year. If we can't find anyone to release it, we'll just do ourselves again through Withered Hand Records.

We've got two great gigs in the pipeline - both in London (we've failed in our attempts to get gigs anywhere else! - but we're working on that). I'll put up details when everything's set in stone.

Last but not least, we did a great little interview recently with Sonic Escapes that you can find HERE

PROG MAGAZINE!

It's on the shelves! We're in it! Dashing bunch of misfits aren't we :)

As mentioned in the last post, the photo was taken of us on the roof of the Unicorn pub, in the freezing cold during a snow storm. Great how it looks like we're space instead!

Need to say a quick apology to our old pal Neil 'Two Scoops' May (original Crumbling Ghost bass player). As is the nature of the beast, there's a few inaccuracies in the interview (to Malcolm Dome's credit, it can't be easy having five people rambling on, then trying to make sense of it on a dictaphone). Neil wasn't asked to leave or gotten rid of as the interview implies, also his virtuoso jazz playing was very much appreciated! Neil simply left to do other things and we wish him all the best.

In other news, we had a 6 hour rehearsal session at the weekend. There was cake and sandwiches followed by ale and crisps. Awesome. Five new songs almost ready to record (two original songs, and three traditional songs given the CG treatment), we'll no doubt have them ready to go by the end of the next 6 hour session later this month. Well, we better have them finished as we're in the studio to record them in April. From there it'll be a bit of tweaking of the Brixton recording sessions we did last year, then mastering everything into Crumbling Ghost II - The Peculiar Wheelbarrow (okay it might not actually be called that).

Just a quick reminder that the album is available through the Withered Hand Site (though we are starting to run low on stock!) and also on itunes as well as various other places.

Also a quick shout out to our boys in Trippy Wicked and the Cosmic Children of the Knight. They're having their album launch on the 23rd March at the Unicorn and you really should go. Facebook event is here!

And speaking of Facebook, please come and 'like' us! CG Facebook page Until next time

OH WHAT A NIGHT...

Hi all, Well Saturday's gig was great fun! A pleasure to play with Stubb again and really enjoyed what Sedulus are doing too. To everyone that braved the blizzard to see us, thanks for making it a great first gig of the year. If they could all be like that I'd be a happy man! We didn't manage any new songs but they're coming along nicely in the rehearsal space, so maybe another time. Also, we did a little interview (our first ever actually) with Classic Rock presents PROG. We were taken up to the flat above the Unicorn and interviewed by Malcolm Dome (whose interviews/reviews I used to read as a kid!), then shimmied out of the window and braved the hazards of a roof top in the snow for our photo shoot. They looked pretty amazing from what we were shown. Steam pouring out of vents meeting the falling snow above us, crazy stuff! So until next time, we'll continue working on the new album and trying to get some gigs together. As usual, let us know if you've got a gig in the pipeline! Cheers -Donny
